Hello sir I want to do BA honours from Jawaharlal Nehru University so please tell me about eligibility and other details related to this degree. I need some extra details with reference to German language.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University constituted under the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act 1966, (53 of 1966) came into existence in 1969. The basic academic units of the University are not single discipline departments but multi-disciplinary Schools of Studies.

JNU offers admission to Bachelor of Arts degree in the following foreign languages:

ARABIC
CHINESE
FRENCH
GERMAN
JAPANESE
KOREAN
PERSIAN
RUSSIAN
SPANISH

JNU Entrance Exam Eligibility
For B.A. (Hons.) : 1st Year
-Senior School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks. OR
-Certificates issued by Madras with at least 45% marks.

For B.A. (Hons.) : 2nd Year in German
First year of Bachelor's degree or equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks with adequate proficiency in German.

For B.A. (Hons.) : 2nd Year other than German
-First year of Bachelor's degree or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 45% marks under 10+2+3 pattern of education with adequate proficiency in the concerned language.

Eligibility for SC/ST:
The SC/ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates who have passed the qualifying examination irrespective of their percentage of marks are eligible to appear in the Entrance Examination.

JNU Entrance Exam Pattern
For B.A. (Hons.) 1st Year
The questions in the paper will be of objective type within the broad framework of General Knowledge, General English and elementary knowledge on the culture and civilization of the language/country concerned and aptitude for language skills.

For B.A. (Hons.) 2nd Year
Question paper for the entrance examination will be set in respective foreign language and answers also are to be given in that foreign language.
