The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research is a multidisciplinary research institute located at Jakkur, Bangalore, India.

Integrated Phd is Offered in

Chronobiology,
Evolutionary Genetics,
Population Ecology,
Animal Behaviour,
Phylogeography, and Behavioural Neurogenetics.


This programme is offered only for the August session of admissions. The advertisement for Int.Ph.D programe is released ONLY during February/March every year.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelors level [(B.Sc) as applicable to the area] . Candidates who are appearing for their final examination in Bachelor's can also apply.

Admission is Based on the JNCASRs written test


Scholarships/Fellowship:
Selected students will receive a scholarship of Rs. 15,000/- p.m. for the first two years. Successful students will receive M.S degree on successful completion of their course work and research project/thesis and continue for Ph.D. programme with a fellowship and fees as applicable to a Ph.D student.
