JMET stands for the Joint Management Entrance Test directed by the IIT’s to offer admission into 2-Year full time Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in Management. The institutes are:- • Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. • IIT Bombay: Master of Management (M. Mgt). • IIT Delhi: MBA with focus on Management Systems; MBA with focus on Tele-communication Systems Management. • IISc Bangalore : Master of Business Administration. • IIT Kanpur: Master of Business Administration (MBA). • IIT Kharagpur: Master of Business Administration (MBA). • IIT Roorkee: Master of Business Administration (MBA). • IIT Madras: Master of Business Administration (MBA). Exam Pattern: JMET comprises of 120 objective type multiple choice questions of three hours time from the following given sections. Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) was an admission exam for admission to postgraduate programs in management. In 2011 JMET was discontinued and replaced by Common Admission Test (CAT). Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level entrance exam organized by IIMS on rotational basis every year. It is conducted to offer admission into management programmes in various colleges and institutions situated in India. Number of private and government management institutions provides admission into MBA programmes through CAT scores. CAT 2020 Important Dates Release of CAT 2020 Notification 28th July 2019 Starting of Online Registration 7th August 2019 Last date to fill the application form 25th September 2019 Image correction window 28th – 30th September 2019 Mock Test 17th October 2019 Release of Admit card 23rd October 2019 CAT 2020 Exam 24th November 2019 Release of Answer Key 29th November 2019 Last date to submit objection 6th December 2019 Announcement of Results 4th January 2020 CAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria Qualifying Exam: One must have passed Bachelor degree or its equivalent from a recognized board or university. Minimum Marks: One must have passed his/her qualifying exam with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. For one belonging to ST/SC/PWD category must have passed with a minimum of 45% marks. Age Criteria: There will be no lower or upper age limit prescribed for appearing in CAT exam. One who possesses an equivalent exam degree recognized by MHRD, Government of India (including AMICE of the Institution of Civil Engineers) is also eligible. Appearing candidates: One appearing in the final year of Bachelor degree or its equivalent can also apply.
