Hello sir I am here as I want to know when the Pre-hospital Trauma Technician Course (PHTT) of JIPMER is is renamed as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course??

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research is a
medical school in India, and the oldest to teach European medicine in Asia.

Pre-hospital Trauma Technician Course (PHTT) comes in the Emergency
Medicine & Trauma Department

The Course was started in 2007 with the training period of 10 months in Pre-
hospital Emergency management.

Initially, the course was named as Pre-hospital Trauma Technician course
(PHTT). In 2011, the course was renamed as “Emergency Medical Technician
(EMT) Course”. In addition to one year study period in this course, internship
of one year is included for training of EMT’s.

In-Patient Services Offered by Emergency Medicine & Trauma Department

Ground Floor

Triage, Resuscitation Room and Emergency ICU, ECG Room, Plaster & Minor
Procedure Room, USG, X-Ray and CT Scan, Injection Room

First Floor

Male and Female Ward for short stay medical patients (60 Beds), Emergency
Laboratory Services (24 hours), Emergency Medical Unit and Consultation
Room

Second Floor

Emergency OT and Recovery Room, CATH Lab, Coronary Care ICU

Third Floor

Trauma ICU, Trauma OT and Recovery Room, Critical Care ICU

Fourth Floor

Trauma Male and Female Wards (Total 60 Beds), Emergency Surgical Unit
and Consultation Room

Fifth Floor


Burns Unit with the Burns ICU, Burns OT and Burns Ward
