The State of Jharkhand appeared on the fifteenth of November, 2000. An Act to set up the Jharkhand Academic Council was ordered by the Jharkhand State Legislature and consented to by the Governor of the State on 26.12.2003, which was known as Jharkhand Academic Council Act 02.7.2003.

The Jharkhand Academic Council was constituted by HRD Department Government of Jharkhand Vide Notification No. 2/1-72/06 E.d.n 90 dated 07-06-2007 and Notification No. 01 dated 04-01-2016 comprising of taking after individuals :-

The residency of the individuals and Chartered Accountant other than the Chairman and ex-officer Members should be three years from the Govt. notice.

The Jharkhand Academic Council was built up for holding and leading examinations toward the end of Intermediate, Education, Secondary Education, Sanskrit Education and Madrasa Education and for endorsing courses of studies for such examinations and for prescribing for acknowledgment of Intermediate Educational Institutions, High Schools, Sanskrit Schools and Madrasas to the State Government and for doing such other or obligations alloted to the gathering by the State Govt occasionally.

The Jharkhand Academic Council began working in a leased house in Rameshwaram where already the Jharkhand Intermediate Council worked, and the Secondary segment kept on working in Zila School Ranchi grounds. The quest for appropriate settlement for JAC proceeded with unabated till finally the Council was housed in a segment of the Birsadih Club on rent. The present office was initiated by the hon'ble Chief Minister Sri Arjun Munda on 13.12.2003 under the Chairmanship of the then HRD Minister Sri Pashupati Nath Singh.
