Re: JEE Merit List
Following steps are taken into considered when the JEE Advanced Merit list is being created: • One who has appeared for both, that is JEE Main and JEE Advanced is taken into consideration for the merit list. • The rank or the marks that are obtained by one is aggregate of the total of marks obtained in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. • The marks in particular subject are calculated on the basis of the marks obtained in both the papers; paper 1 and paper 2. • The common merit list is prepared on the basis of the aggregate score in JEE Advanced. • If there is a tie between two students (those who have scored the same total score), then the student who has obtained higher score in Mathematics is given preference. • If even this does not work, then the preference is given to the one who has scored higher marks in Physics. • And at last if even that does not work, then the preference is given to the one with maximum score in Chemistry. • If in case the marks obtained in all three subjects are same, then the student will score the same rank. • To be part of Common Merit List, one should score minimum of 10% in each subject and minimum aggregate should be 35%. • Usually, different merit lists are prepared for General, OBC and Backward classes. • Students falling in OBC category should score lowest 9% in each subject and minimum aggregate of 31.5%; to be able to make OBC Merit List. For SC and ST classes students should obtain 5% in each subject and at least 17.5% as aggregate score to able to make it to SC and ST Merit List. • If one falls in multiple categories of relaxation, then one’s name is added to the list in which he or she qualifies. • For the merit list there is no waiting list for ranking. • The admission solely depends on the performance, documents and counseling. |
