James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is one of Europe’s most modern hospitals.

The hospital has a dedicated 24-hour acute admissions unit.

James Cook has a 21-room imaging department equipped with the latest technology.

The James Cook University Hospital is the Major Trauma Centre (MTC) for the South Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire areas.

Services at Children's Ward

Ward 21 – Children and young people’s medicine
Ward 22 – Children and young people’s trauma and surgery
Paediatric intensive care (PICU) and children’s high dependency unit (HDU)
Children’s specialist nurses – diabetes, cystic fibrosis, respiratory, epilepsy and endocrine
The paediatric day unit – open 8am – 9pm
Children’s outpatient department
Children’s community nursing team
