Jaipur National University, Jaipur, a Private self- financed University, sponsored by Mahima Shiksha Samiti, came into existence on October 22, 2007, through an Ordinance of the Government of Rajasthan. The University is one of the many institutions of the Seedling Group of educational institutions of the Mahima Shiksha Samiti.

The university offers interdisciplinary programs in both traditional and distance. The University has received mandatory approvals and recognitions for its programmes from the National Regulatory Bodies, namely, UGC, AICTE, PCI, NCTE, BCI as well as Nursing Council of India. The School of Distance Education and Learning of the University has also been recognised and approved by the Joint Committee of the UGC-AICTE-DEC.

Accreditation
Jaipur National University (JNU) and the Degrees awarded by the university are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC),. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). They are authorized to deliver Distance learning course per the Distance Education Bureau (DEB). The university was also accredited by the NAAC (National Accreditation and Assessment Council) in 2015 .

The university has been accredited by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Indian Nursing Council (INC), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bar Council of India (BCI) as well as Medical Council of India (MCI).

Ranking
The university has been ranked by India Today in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as one of India's Top 30 universitiesin India.

SiliconIndia has ranked the university for the MBA in Top 20 private universities.
