The Jai Prakash University is one of the state premier universities in Chhapra, Bihar, India. The university has 21 constituent colleges, 11 affiliated colleges and 23 proposed colleges including 10 professional colleges.

The Head Office of Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya is located in the eastern side of Chapra town.

242 acres of land has been acquired here for University campus.

The University building construction is going on in full swing.

The University Department of Physics and Psychology are functioning from Inspection Bungalow of local State Electricity Department at Dak Bunglow Road (earlier University Headquarter).

University Department of Botany and Zoology are functioning at the top floor of Gandak Bhavan at Dak Bungalow Road.

Chemistry and Geography Departments are functioning in Rajendra College Campus and rest of all Non-practical subject Departments of Arts and Commerce are located at PG Building in Rajendra College Campus on Gudri Main Road.
