Well the Defence Research and Development Organisation is an agency of the of India and Jadavpur University is a public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

Yes there is a collaboration for upcoming research in between the DRDO and the Jadavpur University

It was done in the June 2016

It focus at fostering research in upcoming technologies like robotics and unmanned vehicles, the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO)

The collobration is basically for establishing a Rs. 100 crore research centre.

Jagadish Chandra Bose Centre for Advanced Technology (JCBCAT) shall act as a self-accounting unit of the DRDO.

According to the DRDO Director General S. Christopher told the centre shall firstly undertake research in areas of secure systems and cognitive technologies, directed energy, unmanned and robotics technologies and other futuristic technologies.

Christopher, also the Secretary, Department of the Defence Research and Development, told the DRDO shall support and facilitate advanced research and use the outcome in developing futuristic defence systems.
