Well the Indian School of Mines is an Indian institute of higher education.

It was a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act before it got converted into an institution of national importance under the autonomous IIT system.

At present the ISM Dhanbad is recruiting for the Chair Professor ( Uranium Chair) in Mining Engineering I have given you the details for that

Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch of engineering with a very good academic record throughout


Minimum 10 years’ experience out of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate Professor/Assistant Professor or equivalent post in industrial/R&D organization.


At the time of appointment the Uranium Chair Professor should have a minimum of two years to serve before reaching the maximum age of 70 years.

Annual salary to a retired candidate/ candidates from other academic institutions will be restricted to 8.07 lacs per annum, which will include apart from his monthly salary a chair honorarium of Rs. 20,000.00 per month.

Last date for receipt for applications is 22nd July, 2016 till 05:00 PM.

Settlement of legal disputes, if any, with ISM is restricted to Dhanbad jurisdiction only.
