The Grievance Redressal Cell of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority investigates protestations from policyholders. Protestations against Life and Non-life back up plans are taken care of independently. This Cell assumes a facilitative part by bringing up protests with the individual guarantors.

Policyholders who have objections against safety net providers are required to first approach the Grievance/Customer Complaints Cell of the concerned back up plan. In the event that they don't get a reaction from insurer(s) inside a sensible timeframe or are disappointed with the reaction of the organization, they may approach the Grievance Cell of the IRDA. The objections should be tended to the Non-life coverage Grievance Cell of the IRDA and sent to the location given underneath.

Just instances of postponement/non-reaction in regards to matters identifying with arrangements and cases are taken up by the Cell with the guarantors for fast transfer.

As cases/arrangement contracts in debate require arbitration and the IRDA does not do any mediation, insureds are encouraged to approach the accessible semi legal or legal channels, i.e., the Insurance Ombudsmen, Consumer discussion or the Civil courts for such grumblings.
