The Iraq Institute for Strategic Studies is an Iraqi research institute focusing on political, socio-economic, religious, and gender issues in Iraq. IIST was established in London, England in 1993. Its head quarter is located in Beirut, Lebanon. Training Focused courses are constantly being prepared to train and educate civil society activists, women, journalists, and young professionals IIST also conducts language classes for all trainees. Certificates are awarded after successful completion of the modules. Major Training Courses from 2006-2011- Young Researchers Introduction to social theory and methodology, research problem solving, research design, sampling, interviewing, quantitative data analysis, content analysis, and public relations.
