IPS Officer after 12th from Commerce

Can you tell me if I can become an IPS Officer after completing 12th from Commerce as I want to pursue my career in it?

No, you can not become IPS officer after 12th standard as the minimum qualification is Graduation in any discipline with any percentage from recognized college or University. Final year pursuing candidates also are eligible to apply for the exam.

For the post of IPS one has to clear Civil Services Exams which is conducted by UPSC per annum.

Civil Services Exam is conducted in three parts:
Prelims
Mains
Interview

IPS Exam Eligibility;-

You must be Graduate

For General Candidates : 21-30 yrs

For OBC Candidates : 21-33 yrs

For SC/ST Candidates : 21-35 yrs

Age relaxation is given per Government rules.

You must be Indian citizen.

Number of Attempts:

There is limitation for attempts this exam as per govt rules.

4 attempts for General candidates

7 attempts for OBC Candidates

No limit for SC/ST candidates.

IPS Exam Pattern

IPS Exam consists of total 9 papers based on different topics which are mentioned below:

Paper I: Language Exam
Paper II: General English
Paper III: Essay
Paper IV and V: General Studies
Paper VI, VII, VIII and IX: Optional Subjects
Applicants need to qualify in all the above Exams and after that they are called for Interview for final selection.
