IPS stands for the Indian Police Service exam is conducted by the UPSC once in a year. Age limits : Applicants must have attained the age of 21 Yrs and must not Attained the age of 30 Yrs on 1st August,2012. The Upper age limit will be Applicable for SC/ST and OBC Applicants. Upto a maximum Five Years for Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribes. Upto a Maximum three years for Other Backward Classes. Education Qualification : Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree of any Recognized University. If Applicants are in the final year of a degree course can also Eligible. Number of Attempts : Four Attempts for Open. Seven Attempts for OBC category. No Limit for SC/ST. Physical Fitness Height Male 165 Cm Pahari Male (General also) & ST (Not SC/OBC) - 160 Cm. Female 150 Cm Pahari female (General also) & ST (Not SC/OBC) - 145 Cm. Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. Eye Sight :- -->>The applicants should have 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. -->>The applicants should have 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. -->>The applicants should have Near vision J1 for good eye. -->>The applicants should have Near vision J2 for worst eye. Blood Pressure Standards :- Age 23 – 123, Age 24 – 124, Age 25 –122, Age 28 – 124, Age 30 –125, Age 32 – 126, Age 34 – 127. Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test. Ear :- The applicants should have 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment and should not have more than 30 decibels. |

The entrance examination for IPS as Indian Police Service is conducted by Government of India for the recruitment of brilliant and career oriented candidates for the different posts in Indian Civil Services. The Height required for IPS (Indian Police Services) exam as you want to be a Police Officer is as follows: Height – Male 165 cm & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Physical requirement Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye Other Qualification Minimum Educational Qualifications:- The candidate must hold a degree from any recognized Universities. The candidate should be a citizen of India/ Nepal/ Bhutan and a graduate in any disciple to apply. One must be between the age of 21 – 30 years but the age is relaxed by 5 years for certain category (SC/ST) candidates. Paper Pattern Preliminary Examination:- The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each. (i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions). (ii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. However, questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level will be tested through passages from English Language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper. Each paper will be of two hours duration. Blind candidates will however, be allowed an extra time of twenty minutes for each paper. Main Examination:- Paper-A (One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution) 300 Marks Paper-B English 300 Marks Papers to be counted for merit Paper-I Essay 250 Marks Paper-II General Studies-I 250 Marks (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society) Paper-III General Studies -II 250 Marks (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations) Paper-IV General Studies -III 250 Marks (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) Paper-V General Studies -IV 250 Marks (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude) Paper-VI Optional Subject - Paper 1 250 Marks Paper-VII Optional Subject - Paper 2 250 Marks Sub Total (Written test) - 1750 Marks Personality Test - 275 Marks Grand Total - 2025 Marks |
