After B.Com you are eligible for the IPS exam .

No, there is no minimum marks which are required in Bachelor Degree which candidate need to have in Degree course to apply in Indian Police Services.

You should have Bachelor Degree in any discipline from recognized university and have sufficient marks which declared you as passed candidate in Bachelor Degree from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification.

Those applicants in the final year of a degree course can also appear in the Preliminary Examination taken every year by UPSC.

Applicants must have attained the age of 21 years on 1st August of the year of examination and must not have attained 30 years of age on that date.

The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC Applicants and 5 years for SC/ST Applicants

Physical Requirements

Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women

Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women.

Total amount of Myopia (including the cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00 D and total amount of Hypermetropia (including the cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00 D

3 stages in IPS which student need to Qualify .

IPS is primarily deals with maintenance of Law and Order in the country .

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must possess Degree in any discipline from any University recognised by Government.

Age Limit
Applicant’s age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years.

No. of Attempts
OBCs: 7 times
GEN: 4 times
SC/ST: No limit

IPS exam consist of total 9 papers which are based on different topics. These are as follows
Paper I: General Studies
Paper II: Language Exam
Paper III: General English
Paper IV: Essay
Paper V, VI, VII, VIII and IX: Optional Subjects

General Studies
Paper Type: Objective Type
Marks: 200
Duration: 2 Hours

Language Exam
Paper Type: Subjective
Marks: 200
Duration: 2 Hours
