Re: IPS Entrance Test for Government Employee

Yes, as per my knowledge a government employee can appear for IPS exam. All such candidates, whether already in Government Service or Government owned industrial undertakings or other similar organizations or in private employment need to submit the applications direct to the Commission.

Applicant who is already in Government Service, whether on a permanent or temporary basis or as a work charged employees other than casual or daily rated employees or those who are serving under the Public Enterprises are required to submit an undertaking that they have informed in writing their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for the Examination.

Applicants need to keep in mind that in case something unaesthetic received from their employer withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing at the examination, their application will be rejected and will be liable to be cancelled.

As such there is no benefit is given for only government employee its there for military services.

Applicants who got selected in IAS or IFS cannot apply for IPS and should be eligible as per requirement to apply against IPS only.

IPS exam if there age is between
21-35 yrs for General Candidates
21-38 yrs for SC/ST Candidates
