To fulfill the recruitment of Indian Police Service officers in India, the Ministry of Home Affairs planned the configuration of Indian Police Service Limited Competitive Examination to be conducted by UPSC.

IPS partial spirited Examination was held for the first time in 2012. This is in adding to the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC itself, for employment to the various civil services including Indian Police Service.

Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:
Candidate must hold a graduate degree from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification.

Age:
The candidate’s age must have more than 21 and less than 30 years.

Nationality:
For IPS, the candidate must be a citizen of India.
