The Department of Instrumentation, initially the college science instrumentation center (USIC) has its beginning in 1978 as an administration division with the support of the UGC. It has been stretching out instrumentation support to science and innovation divisions of the university.The focus was raised to a level lll USIC by UGC in 1990.

With this the inside turned into a full –fledged scholastic office. The division began a post graduate certificate course in instrumentation in 1994. In 1995 the college re composed USIC into an undeniable showing division with USIC contained in it and the office appeared in its present shape.
