Indian Economic Service (IES) is the administrative civil service under Grade A of the Central Civil Services of Government of India.

IES officers posted to serve in a diverse range of subject areas such as :
Finance,
Social sector,
Rural development,
Education,
Health,
Agriculture,
Industry,
Trade,
Transport,
Information technology.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Economic Service (IES):

Candidate should have post graduate degree from a recognized university in Economics or Applied Economics or Business Economics or Econometrics.

IES officers posted therein serve in a diverse range of subject areas, such as finance, social sector, rural development, education, health, agriculture, industry, trade, transport, and information technology.
Exam Pattern:

Part I is written examination carrying a maximum of 1000 marks.

The exam is of conventional type. Part II is viva-voce of such candidates as may be called by the Commission, carrying a maximum of 200 marks.
