IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) has established its Sub-Regional Centre at Rajkot in 2004 to look after the activities of IGNOU in the Saurashtra and Kachchh region of Gujarat. Later, in 2008, it was upgraded to Regional Centre status.

Now its jurisdiction is for Saurashtra and Kachchh region consisting of following districts of Gujarat: Rajkot, Kachchh, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surendranagar, Botad, Morbi, Devbhoomi-Dwarka, Gir-Somnath, Diu (UT)
