The test of ISI Admission 2018 will have two parts - Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 is mandatory for all candidates. This means that all candidates have to take Part 1. Part 2 will be based on the subject/discipline selected by the candidates.

Exam Pattern

ISI 2018 Exam Pattern (Part 1)

This part is mandatory for all candidates. Part 1 will carry multiple choice/descriptive questions of UG level from Mathematics.

There will be 30 questions in Part 1, whereas the total number marks will be 120. This means that each correct answer will fetch 4 marks.

Candidates will be given 2 hours to complete Part 1 of the test.

In Part 1 (Statistics/Mathematics stream), 5 questions may come from Statistics & Probability. Candidates have to answer a total of 6 questions, which means minimum 2 questions from each section.


ISI Exam Pattern 2018 (Part 2)
Part 2 will have multiple-choice or descriptive questions according to the various disciplines chosen by the candidates.

2 hours will be given to candidates to attempt this part.

This part will have 70 questions in total, from 5 sections. Candidates need to mandatorily answer at least 1 section.
