Indian Police Service Eligibility Criteria
I want to give Indian Police Service exam with a height of 165 cm. Am i eligible or not ?

IPS stands for Indian Police Services, comes under civil services .It is conducted by Union Public Service Commission once in every year. Eligibility Criteria Height Required :- Height – Male 165 cm & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Applicants must be a citizen of India. Applicants must have graduate degree from a recognized university. Applicants must be physically fit as it is a very important factor. Applicants must have age limit of 21-30 years. Applicants who are in the final year can also appear in the IPS exam. IPS Syllabus IPS Syllabus Part A PAPERS OF OBJECTIVE TYPE Paper I - (200 marks) Duration : Two hours • Current events of national and international importance • History of India and Indian National Movement • Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World. • Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. • Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc. • General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization • General Science. Paper II-(200 marks) Duration : Two hours • Comprehension • Interpersonal skills including communication skills; • Logical reasoning and analytical ability • Decision making and problem solving • General mental ability • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. — Class X level) • English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level). Note :- Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper. Part B PAPERS OF DESCRIPTIVE TYPE Paper III : English (200 marks / 3 hours duration) :- This will be a qualifying test only of Matriculation or equivalent standard. The aim of the paper is to test the candidate’s ability to read and understand serious discursive prose, and to express his ideas clearly and correctly, in English. The pattern of questions would be broadly as follows (indicative only) :— (i) Comprehension of given passages; (ii) Precis Writing; (iii) Usage and Vocabulary; (iv) Paragraphs writing; Paper IV : Essay ( 200 Marks/ three hours duration) |
