Re: Indian Police Service Benefits

IPS aspirants join the Police force, no doubt salary is also one factor but not that big. The compatibility of IPS officers is so high that if they apply in the private sector they are eligible to get very high package salary.

1. There are three types of pay Band -III and it is;

-Junior Time Scale with the salary package of around ₹ 15,600 to ₹ 39,000 and the graded payment of ₹ 5,400 in this scale has been added.

It is the first pay scale that an IPS officer gets on commencement of their service. From their training period to the next promotion this pay scale is followed. Generally, ASP and DSP are the two rank that we see which stand with this scale.

-Senior Time Scale holds the salary of around ₹15,600 to ₹39, 100 and there is grade payment of ₹6,600 with this scale. After commencement of the job of IPS officer, it is the first promotion level that an officer gets.
In this scale, there might not be any actual promotion in rank.

-Junior Administrative Scale also holds the salary payment of around ₹15,600 to ₹39,000 but has the graded payment of ₹7,600. This is the salary for the post of Superintendent of Police. Post of DCP also follows this grade of payment.
