Indian Navy Matric Recruit Written Exam question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge and will be of 01 hour duration.

Matric Recruit (MR) Syllabus

Science

1. Nature of Matter, Universe (Planets/ Earth/ Satellites/ Sun), Electricity and its applications
2. Force and Gravitation, Newton's laws, Motion, Relative velocity, Work, Energy and power
3. Heat - Transference/ Fire/ Temperature, Light, Elements, metals and non metals
4. Carbon and its compounds, Food, nutrition and Health/ Diseases, Physiology
5. Measurements in Science, Environment, Sound & Wave motion, Atomic structure

Mathematics

1. Mathematical Simplification, ratio, proportion, direct and indirect variation, Algebraic identities
2. Linear equations and Polynomials, Simultaneous equations, Basic Trigonometry
3. Simple Mensuration, Logic and Missing patterns, Basic Set theory, Geometry
4. Measures of central tendency (Average, Median and Mode)
5. Interest, Profit, Loss and Percentage, Work, Time, Speed and Distance

English

1. Passage for Comprehension, Preposition. Change into Direct/Indirect speech
2. Change into active/passive voice, Punctuation
3. Determiners (Used of 'a', 'the', 'any' etc.), Use of Pronouns, Use of Adjectives
4. Use of Verbs, Tenses, One word substitution
5. Meaning of Difficult words, Opposite of words

General Knowledge/ General Awareness

1. Geography- Soil, Rivers, Mountains, Ports, Inland Harbours, Sports- Championships/ Winners/ Terms/ Number of Players
2. Culture and Religion, Freedom Movement, Important National Facts about India, Heritage and Arts, Dance
3. History, Defence, Wars and Neighbours, Awards and Authors, Discoveries, Diseases and
Nutrition
4. Current Affairs, Languages, Capitals and Currencies, Common Names, Full forms and Abbreviations
5. Eminent Personalities, National- Bird/ Animal/ Sport/ Flower/ Anthem/ Song/ Flag/ Monuments
