Indian Navy Dockyard Apprentices Examination is carried out by the Navy for unmarried Indian male citizens. It is generally held twice a year for courses commencing in August / September and February / March respectively. This examination is generally held twice a year in the months of June and December. Eligibility: General Eligibility Conditions Only Unmarried male Indian citizens are eligible for this examination Qualification of the candidates is Matric or equivalent preferably with Science. Age of the candidates must be between 14 to 19 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates). Physical Standards Weight of the candidates must be 45 kg (Maximum), Height must be 150 cm (Minimum) and well-developed chest with minimum expansion of 5 cm, Eye Sight: 6/6 to 6/9 (6/9 correctable with glasses) Exam pattern Written Exam Mathematics for 100 Marks (max) - 2.5 Hrs General Knowledge and General Science for 100 marks - 2 Hrs Interview Based on the performance of the candidates in the written examination, candidates will be called for interview at Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Bangalore. Based on the performance of the candidates in the final interview, the selected candidates will be sent to Naval Dockyard School, Mumbai for training. Period of training is three years for most trades. Syllabus: 1. Mathematics Syllabus Number system, Natural numbers, Integers, Rational and real numbers, Commutative, Associative and Distributive law, Fundamental operations-addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, Square root, Decimal fractions. Unitary method-application to simple and compound interest, time and distance, time and work, percentages, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, averages, areas and volumes. Factors, Problems and Equations of Algebra 2. General Knowledge and General Science Syllabus Abbreviations, Books and Authors, Facts about India and the World, Sports, Awards and Prizes, Everyday Science, short notes on various subjects in 100 words. |

Indian Navy Dockyard Apprentice Selection will be based on-: Written Test Interview Medical Exam Eligibility Criteria Age: 14 to 19 years of age. Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Educational Qualification: Matric or equivalent, preferably with Science (8th pass for Welders, Riggers and Shipwright-wood only). Physical Standards: Weight: 45 kg (Minimum). Height: 150 cms (Minimum) and well developed Chest, with minimum expansion of 5 cms. Eye Sight: 6/6 to 6/9 (6/9 correctable with glasses). Written Examination There will be two papers each of 100 marks and 3 hours duration. Paper I-Mathematics; Paper II-General Knowledge and General Science.
