The Distance Engineering Education Programme - Centre for Distance Engineering Education Program (CDEEP) aims to provide high quality education in engineering and science in distance mode to a large number of participants throughout the country and abroad.

The expertise of IIT Bombay’s faculty is freely available for students and working professionals everywhere, as the courses offered through distance education are the same as those taken by IITB students.

To provide quality engineering course material to the maximum number of learners, CDEEP uses different mediums and variety of technologies, like uploading web-based courses, taking video recordings of classroom lectures, and transmitting these courses through internet with live interaction possible.

Live courses are transmitted through internet, using at present a web interactive platform where both sides could see and listen to the other. These courses are quite popular. Around 81 colleges and technical institutions have registered as Remote Centres (RC) under the programme and are recipients of the courseware.
