The Department of Textile Technology of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi offers one UG program in Textile Technology and two PG programs in Textile Engineering and in Fiber Science & Technology, besides offering the Doctoral program.

Programmes Offered

Undergraduate

4 years (8 semesters) B.Tech. Programme.

Eligibility-

10+2 system or its equivalent
Those appearing in the 10+2 final or equivalent examination may also appear in JEE for consideration for provisional admission.

Admission to all Undergraduate Programme is through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)

Postgraduate

2 yr. (4 semesters) M.Tech. Programme.

M.Tech. Textile Engineering
M.Tech Fibre Science and Technology

Eligibility-

Candidates with BTech./ M.Sc or equivalent degree with 75% marks (or CGPA 8.5)

Doctorate

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme

Current areas of Doctoral and post-doctoral research include study of structure and properties of fibres and fibrous materials, analysis and design of yarn and fabric formation systems, mechanics of production processes, comfort properties of textiles, optimization and mechanism of dyeing and preparatory processes, eco friendly processing, micro encapsulation, antimicrobial finishes, nanotechnology applications, plasma treatment, design of technical textiles, smart and innovative textiles, medical textiles, polymer composites and apparel engineering.
