The Centre for Ecological Sciences, was established in the year 1983 for research in a variety of areas in ecology.

The Lotka Volterra Mathematical Ecology Lab

The Molecular Ecology Laboratory

Environmental Chemistry Laboratory

Biodiversity mapping and GIS Laboratory

To facilitate researchers, permanent field stations have been set up in following locations:

Rushikulya (Orissa)

Kudremukh (Karnataka)

Mudumalai (Tamil Nadu)

Lakshadweep
