Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts IFS (Indian Forest Services) Exam for recruitment to forestry services of India. One needs to appear in the civil services (preliminary) examination and qualify the same for going to the second stage of Indian Forests Services main examination (written and interview).

Eligibility Criteria

Age:

One’s age must be between 21 years 32 years on 1st August of the year of exam.
Upper age limit is relaxable in some cases.


Education:
One must hold Bachelor degree with at least one of the subjects - Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.


Number of Attempts:
Six attempts not applicable in case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe.


IFS Exam Pattern

The Indian Forest Service Examination consists of three stages -
The Civil Services Preliminary exam
The IFS Main exam
Interview or Personality Test
