Indian Forest Service Exam is taken by Union Public Service Commission once in a year. Eligibility 1. Educational Qualification Applicants must hold Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, geology, statistics, veterinary science and animal husbandry; or Applicants who hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, forestry, or agriculture; or Applicants having a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. 2. Age Applicants must have attained the age of 21 years on 1st July of the year of examination and must not have attained 30 years of age on that date. The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC Applicants and 5 years for SC/ST Applicants 3. Physical Standards Applicants must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Forest Service Examination Important Dates Date of Notification 17th May, 2014 17.05.2014 16.06.2014 24.08.2014 Last Date for Receipt of Applications 16th Jun, 2014 Date of Exam 24th Aug, 2014 |

Indian Forest Services exam IFS Exam is conducted by the UPSC for recruiting officers for the Indian Forest Service. Selected candidates are sent for foundation training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration followed by specialised training at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun. IFS Exam Eligibility Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, geology, statistics, veterinary science and animal husbandry or Bachelor's degree in engineering, forestry, or agriculture; or Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. Age Age should be between 21 years to 30 years The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Physical Standards Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Forest Service Examination Nationality A candidate must be either: A citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. IFS 2015 Paper Pattern:- The competitive examination comprises two successive stages : Preliminary Examination The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each Both the question papers will be of the objective type The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. Main Examination:- The written examination consisting of the following papers:- Paper I General English 300 Marks Paper II General Knowledge 300 Marks Paper III Any two subjects 200 marks to be selected for Paper IV from the list of each the optional paper Paper V subjects set out Paper VI Each subject will have two papers.
