Indian Engineering Services competitive examination conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services. They are the organized Group-A engineering services of the Central Civil Services that meet the technical functions of the Government of India.

As you asked for seats are there in the IES (Indian Engineering Services) exam, so for it I want to tell you for 2015 info , seats are different for different branch,
Civil: it varies from 150 to 280 depending on vacancies in different department.
Mechanical: 100 to 150
Electrical: 100 to 125u
Electrical and electronics: 100 to 125
Total number of seats varies every year for 2016 you need to come again here to get latest update :
