Hi I would like to know the next schedule of the IES examination as I am planning to appear for the exam?

Firstly I would like to inform you that the new schedule of examination has not been declared as yet since the last examination was held in the month of June.

However I am providing you with some of the details of the examination below:

The Indian Engineering Services Exam or ESE is an entrance exam to be taken by graduate engineers who want to work under the Government of India to manage a large segment of public sector economy such as - Power, Telecommunications, Railroads, Public works etc.

Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) conducts a competitive examination for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services (IES)

The recruited applicants of IES will be eligible in following categories -

1. Civil Engineering
Indian Railway Service of Engineers
Indian Railway Stores Service
Central Engineering Service
Military Engineer Service (Building and Roads Cadre)
Central Water Engineering
Assistant Executive Engineer
Survey of India Service

2. Electrical Engineering
Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers
Indian Railway Stores Service
Central Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Service
Indian Naval Armament Service
Military Engineer Service
Assistant Executive Engineer (in Ministry of Defence)
Assistant Naval Store (in Indian Navy)

3. Mechanical Engineering
Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers
Indian Railway Stores Service
Central Water Engineering Service
Indian Ordnance Factories Service
Indian Naval Armament Service
Assistant Executive Engineer (in Ministry of Defence)
Assistant Naval Store officer Grade I in Indian Navy
Central Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Service
Assistant Executive Engineer (in Boarder Roads Engineering Service)
Mechanical Engineer (in Geological Survey of India)

4. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers
Indian Railway Stores Service
Indian Ordnance Factories Service
Indian Naval Armament Service
Assistant Executive Engineer (in Ministry of Defence)
Engineer in Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organisation
Assistant Naval Stores officer (in Indian Navy)
Survey of India Service

Admission criteria of qualification required for taking the exam:
B.Tech/B.E or, qualified in Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India). or,
Attained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be acknowledged by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or
Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
Qualified in Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
Qualified in Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.
