Re: Indian Economic Service Exam Selection Procedure

Indian Economic Exam is conducted by the UPSC to recruit Grade IV officers for the ISS and Indian Economic Service .

Duration
The exams will be held for 03 Days.

Eligiblity criteria
Applicants should have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years
Applicants must have a valid Post-graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics.
Applicants who are studying in final year Degree Course are also eligible .

Selection procedure:
The selection consists of various steps.
Written Examination
Interview process
Document verification
Final medical test

In written test, applicants will have to go through 6 parts, which form a total of 1000 marks
6 parts are – Genl. English, Genl. Studies, Genl. Economics 1, Genl. Economics 2, Genl. Economics 3 and Indian Economics.

Union Public Service Commission conducts Indian Economic Service (IES) Examination.

Selection Procedure:

1. Written Examination
2. Interview/Personality Test
3. Physical Fitness
3. Document Verification
4. Medical Test

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should have post graduate degree from a recognized university in Economics or Applied Economics or Business Economics or Econometrics.

Written Exam pattern :
Written exam will be conducted for 1000 marks.

20 March, 2015

Date of Exam:
23 May, 2015 (3 Days)


Indian Economic Service Exam Books:


General English:
For general English Arihant General English by C S Gupta

General Economics-I:
For Micro: Koutsoyyiannis, Ahuja or any other good book
For Macro: Shapiro, Dornbusch and Fischer, Ahuja


General Studies:
For General Studies a regular reading of good Magazines and good General Knowledge book of Upkar is adequate.


Indian Economics:
For Indian Economy refer to books by Dutt and Sundaram, Mishra & Puri, A N Agrawala, Uma Kapila
