To apply for the Indian Army you need to appear in the NDA (National Defence Academy) conducted by UPSC twice every year. here I am giving you the details of this examination:

Nationality:
A candidate must either be:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Eligibility for Indian Army:
The applicant should be 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Here I am giving you details about required Physical Standards including Height and Weight Requirements for job in Indian Army.

Physical Standards for Indian Army:

1. Height and Weight Standards (Males)

Height in Weight in Kgs. Centimeters (Without shoes):



2. Height and Weight Standards (Females)

Height in Weight in Kgs. Centimeters (Without shoes):



3. Candidates must be good in physical and mental and there should not any disability which creates problem to perform your duty.

4. Chest should be healthy. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms.

5. Candidate should be able to see 6/6. Spectacles candidate will not be allowed in Indian Armed Forces.

6. Hearing should be normal.

7. There should not any disease like bones joint or skin disease.

8. Candidate’s teeth should be clean and straight.

9. There should not paste any tattoo in your body.

10. Urine Examination can be cause of rejection.

11. There should be no sign of functional or organic disease of the heart and blood vessels.
