Indian Air Force pilot Spectacles requirement
Hi I am using Spectacles so can I eligible to apply for Pilot post in Indian Air Force?

Indian Air Force (Police) & Indian Air Force (Security) trades require 6/6 vision for each eye means no use of spectacles permissible. There are different visual standards specific to different trades. However, the common minimum visual standards acceptable for some of the trades are :- (i) Unaided vision : 6/6 for each eye (ii) Correctable with spectacles : at least 6/9 for each eye (iii) Dioptectric power : not exceeding + 3.5 Dioptres including Astigmatism. (iv) Field of Vision : Full (v) Colour perception : Minimum CP-III (vi) Corneal Surgery : PRK/LASIK is not acceptable To become pilot candidate have to apply for CDS exam. Combined Defence Service Exam (CDS) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. CDS eligibility criteria- For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent For Naval Academy: Bachelor of Engineering For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering Bachelor of Technology Age Limit- Indian Military Academy 19-24 years Air Force Academy 19-23 years Naval Academy 19-22 years Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 years Scheme of Examination- All the papers are of objective type. I have completed my graduation degree in engineering and want to join Indian Air Force but I wear Spectacles so please tell me can I join this?

To join Indian Air Force it is very strict in the matter of the Physical and Medical Standards. According to the eligibility of the Indian Air force Vision is the Without Glasses Better Eye – 6/6 Worst Eye – 6/9 With Glasses Better Eye – 6/6 Worst Eye – 6/6 If your Eye vision is in this range then you eligible for the exam If you are eligible for the exam then you can join Indian Air force through the CDS exam after graduation degree CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Examination; it is conducted by UPSC twice a year Eligibility for Air Force Academy: Must have passed graduation degree from recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology Age limit: 19-23 years Exam Pattern: Subject Marks English 100 General Knowledge 100 Elementary Mathematics 100 Total 300 Selection Process Written Exam SSB Interview Medical test |
