Re: Indian Air Force Entrance Exam

Indian Air Force conducts Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT ) to enroll brave Men and Women to Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officers in Flying, Technical and Ground Duty branches. The test is led twice per year in February and September. Notices welcoming applications for AFCAT are out in June and December.

Qualification Criteria

Flying Branch


Age: 19 to 23 years as on 01st January of the succeeding year (For eg: If applications are made on 2013. Age point of confinement is - 19 to 23 years as on 01 Jan, 2014(born between 02nd January, 1991 to 01st January, 1995) both dates comprehensive)

Upper age limit for applicants holding substantial and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (Indian) is relaxable upto 25 years.

Instructive Qualifications: Graduates (least 3 years degree course) in any order from a perceived college who have accomplished least 60% imprints in total in all papers set up together and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level or B.E./B.Tech degree (4 year course) from a perceived college with least 60% imprints in total in all papers set up together.

Applicants who have fizzled the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) in a prior endeavor or a Flight Cadet suspended from flying preparing at Air Force Academy won't be qualified to apply

Specialized Branch

Age: 18 to 28 years as on 01st January of the succeeding year (For eg: If applications are made on 2013. Age point of confinement is - 18 to 28 years as on 01st January 2014 (conceived between 02nd January, 1986 to 01st January, 1996) both dates comprehensive)

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) AE (L): Candidates applying for AE (L) branch would be qualified on the off chance that they have experienced at least four year degree capability from a perceived college or cleared Sections An and B examination of Associate enrollment examination of the foundation of gadgets and telecom engineers by genuine studies

All hopefuls applying for AE (L) branch ought to have scored at least 60% imprints in total in all papers set up together

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) AE (M): Candidates applying for AE (M) branch would be qualified in the event that they have experienced at least four year degree capability from a perceived college or cleared Section An and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by genuine studies
