The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is one of the most reputed institutes for technological education and research in India.

The institute is known for its strong relations with the industry, the Institute has always been a favourite destination of recruitment for many firms.

The Training and Placement office is the nodal point of contact for companies seeking to establish a fruitful relationship with IIT Madras.

Tentative placement calendar:


Invitation Mail/Letter to companies : July-August 2018
Student Registration for Placement : 04-11 August 2018
PPT Slots : 13 August 29 August 2018
Test Slots (Online/Written) : 11 September 12 November 2018
Date Allotment Email to Companies (online) : 2nd Week of November 2018
Placement Commences on : 01 December 2018 (Sat)


The Placement Office is de-linked Pre-Placement Offers (PPO) from placements. The following rules are applicable to companies that made PPO through the Placement Office.

In case the student is required to make a decision on the PPO within a specified period (no longer than 10 days), then such a PPO must be made on or before 11 th September.

Once a student accepts a PPO, he / she shall be de-registered from placement.
