I am interested to build my career in the field of electrical engineering and for that I have decided to join the Department of electrical of IIT Madras. Can you please tell me the various courses offered by the electrical department of IIT Madras? Also tell me the faculty members of this department?

Research activities in the Department of Electrical Engineering, , Indian Institute of Technology IIT Madras are in three ways, academic, sponsored and Research Based Industrial Consultancy (RBIC). Research projects worth nearly 18 Crore Rupees have been undertaken by our faculty in the last 6-7 years. Significant contributions by this group include: Analytical modeling and new concepts in solar cells, GaN HEMTs, MOSFETs and power devices like super junctions and SOI MOSFETs Processes for electroless metallization, growth of thin oxides & high-k dielectrics, industrial manufacture of VHF bipolar transistors & diodes, silicon p-i-n variable optical attenuator Fabrication of III devices like InGaAs/InP photodetectors MEMS: Fabrication of integrated polysilicon piezoresistive pressure sensor and accelerometer. Test structures for measurement of residual stress, Young modulus and stiction Bio-sensors for Triglyceride & Urea The thrust of the VLSI group is to develop tools and techniques for high speed energy efficient signal processing. One of the delta-sigma analog to digital converters we have designed, has the lowest reported energy consumption per level resolved. Significant contributions include: Power and area efficient high speed analog adaptive equalizers Accurate design and measurement techniques for high frequency analog filters Efficient computational techniques for noise and jitter in analog and mixed signal systems Hardware accelerator for discrete event simulation Data acquisition board designed for Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) Architecturally efficient FFT pruning algorithms Labs under this group are Device Modeling Lab Digital Systems Design lab FPGA Lab Microelectronics Labs I through IV Microelectronics & MEMS lab Nano-Fabrication Facility TI-VLSI Design Lab VLSI CAD lab VLSI Labs I and II VLSI Testing Lab Microprocessor lab (C) Power Electronics, Control, Robotics and Instrumentation This group is involved with application of Power Electronics Technology to control machine drives, converter and inverter control.
