The Senate Scholarships and Prizes Committee (SSPC), a standing sub-committee of the Academic Senate of Indian Institute of Technology IIT Kanpur

The primary function of the SSPC is selecting students for various types of awards, scholarships, medals, and prizes within the criteria and norms approved by the Academic Senate for such awards.

SSPC Sports Scholarships

The Institute gives prizes and scholarships its students based on their achievements in the field of athletics and sports.

SPORTS PRIZES-

Winners of medals in Inter-IIT sports meets shall be given prizes as follows:

Individual Events

Gold Medal Winner: Rs. 1,500/-
Silver Medal Winner: Rs. 1,000/-
Bronze Medal Winner: Rs. 500/-

Team Events

Gold Medal: Rs. 400/- to each team member
Silver Medal: Rs. 300/- to each team member
Bronze Medal: Rs. 200/- to each team member

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS-

A maximum of 20 scholarships per year in the amount of Rs. 500/- per month for 9 months are to be given to IIT Kanpur students who show:

Excellence in sports, as shown by performance in Inter-IIT and other external sports meets.

Leadership in sports related activities on campus leading to development, growth and increased participation in various sporting activities.
