IITK was declared to be Institute of National Importance by Government of India under IIT Act. Established in 1959 as one of the first Indian Institutes of Technology . The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (commonly known as IIT Kanpur or IITK) is a public research college located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

OPENING HOURS

The Library opens 358 days a year, with the following schedule of hours:

Monday-Friday : 8 A.M. to 12 midnight.

Saturday : 9 A.M. to 12 midnight

Sunday & Holidays : 9 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.

Examination days : Round the clock

"Library is closed on National holidays. Library On-line services are accessible 24X7 hours."



CIRCULATION HOURS :

Monday-Friday : 9 A.M. to 9 P.M.

Saturday : 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Sunday & Holidays : No Circulation
