Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur was established in the year 1959. It is located at Kalyanpur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India .

Types of leaves –

Vacation and Casual Leave.
Medical Leave.
Medical Certificate.
Absence for a minimum of 4 weeks on Sanctioned Leave.
Absence Without Sanctioned Leave.
Maternity Leave.
Semester Leave.

Medical Leave—

Leave supported by a medical certificate, may be granted to a student for up to eight days per semester up to a maximum of 8 days.

Semester Leave

Semester Leave for up to one semester for an M.Tech. candidate and up to two semesters for a Ph.D. candidate sanctioned for bonafide reasons.

Vacation and Casual Leave—

A post-graduate Student may be allowed vacation leave up to a maximum of 15 days per semester.

In addition, a student may be allowed casual leave for up to 8 days per semester .

There will be no loss of financial assistantship for students .

Maternity Leave---

A female student may be granted maternity leave for a maximum of 3 months.
