The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is a public technical and research university located in Hauz Khas, Delhi, is one of the 7 old IITs in India. Established in 1961, The Department of Applied Mechanics at IIT Delhi primarily does research on fundamental problems of mechanics in the broad areas of solid mechanics, fluid mechanics and materials science.
