Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee was established in 1847. It has 18 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management programs with a strong emphasis on scientific and technological education and research.

The following services are available at the Central Library

Circulation:

The Circulation Section remains open between 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM on weekdays. On Sundays and holidays, only reading room and periodical section remains open. There is no issue and return of books on these days.
