The objectives of workshop at Digital Preservation of Archaeological Heritage , Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is to create awareness about upcoming digital technology for archaeological preservation and to train the young archaeologists / scientists about new technology. Structure of Workshop • Review lectures on state of Digital Archaeology in India. • Technical presentation, exhibition and demonstration of commercial products by vendors. • Panel / Focussed discussions on specific topics and issues. • Review lectures on various aspects of digital preservation of archaeological heritage. • Contributed papers and poster sessions reporting National and International Efforts. Topics • Optical & Laser scanning and 3D model creation. • Laser scanning & Virtual Reality applications in Archaeology. • CAD, Rapid Prototyping in Archaeology. • Cultural Resource Management (CRM). • Geoinformatics (Electronic surveying, Remote sensing, Photogrammetry, GIS, GPS, GPR) applications in Archaeology.
