The department was established during the inception of the institute in 1995 as the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).

In 2008, the department had started a new B. Tech. programme in Electronics and Electrical Engineering

In 2011, the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has been renamed as department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE).

M. Tech in five specializations: i) Signal Processing ii)VLSI iii) Communication Engineering iv) Power and Control and v) RF and Photonics.
Dual [MS(Engg.)+PhD] degree in all the major areas of faculty expertise.
