Yes the IIT Gandhinagar is providing Archaeology department. In IIT Gandhinagar
Archaeology deals with research and interpretation of past human lives of on this planet.

The reconstruction of human past is done mostly based on the material remains left during the bygone ages.

In December 2012, IIT Gandhinagar set up an Archaeological Sciences Centre to promote and facilitate multidisciplinary research in archaeology and allied scientific disciplines.

Several research projects are currently under way, such as:
