Ya sure I will tell you rules for changing branch at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, so that you can check it.

The rules for change of discipline would remain similar to the prevailing ones, with two changes:

(i) The allowed % change in strengths would increase as above.

(ii) The various programmes could optionally specify one first year course in which the student should have earned at least a B(-) grade to be eligible to apply for change into that discipline.

The proposed revised set of rules are enclosed. Existing rules are also enclosed for reference.

This was first discussed and recommended by the Undergraduate Curriculum Implementation Committee (UCIC). Subsequently it was circulated to all Departments/Centres/Schools and the feedback was again discussed in UCIC.

Proposed Rules for Department Change at the end of First Year
A student is eligible to apply for change of branch at the end of the first year only, provided he/she satisfies the following criteria.
CGPA for General category students > 7.50

CGPA for SC/ST and Person with Disability category students > 6.50

Earned credits at the end of the first academic session > 32

Optionally, one first year course would be identified by each programme, in which the grade of the applicant is equal to or above B(-).
