Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras welcomes applications for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) under Regular fulltime [with/without Half-time Teaching Research Assistantship (HTRA)] and Part-time/outside program for the session January-May 2017.

Qualification Criteria for IIT Madras PhD Admission 2017

a) For Regular (Full Time) Research Scholars

PhD in Engineering: Candidates must have a Master's degree in Engineering/Technology with a decent scholarly record

Competitors must have a legitimate GATE score or UGC-JRF/NET/CSIRJRF/NBHM/INSPIRE or equal capability in the applicable range reasonable for the time of enlistment

Applicants who have fit the bill for the honor of Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with extraordinarily great scholarly record in a qualified teach will be considered for direct admission to Ph.D. Program in different Engineering and Science offices as a general full time researcher subject to the accompanying conditions:

Hopefuls must have a four year college education holder in Engineering/Technology with a base CGPA of 8.0 for General, 7.5 for OBC-NCL and 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD on a 10.0 point scale or with a legitimate GATE score

Competitors must have a four year college education holder in Engineering/Technology from a rumored R and D association and having a demonstrated research record

PhD in Sciences: Candidates must have graduate degree in Sciences with a decent scholastic record and having a legitimate GATE score or UGCJRF/NET/CSIR-JRF/NBHM/INSPIRE or proportional capability reasonable for the present year in the important territory

Understudies who get more than 8.0 CGPA in M.Sc. in Science Departments of IIT Madras can be conceded straightforwardly to their PhD program in Sciences with meeting at departmental level

PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences: Candidates must have graduate degree/double degree with a decent scholarly record or comparable in a significant train AND Qualifying UGC – NET or JRF/CSIR-JRF/GATE Score or any national level examination

No less than 3 years of involvement in research/industry in lieu of the above examination. (just for Non-HTRA hopefuls)

PhD in Management: Candidates must have graduate degree or equal PG Diploma or Associate ship in an applicable teach, and a Bachelor's degree with a decent scholastic record

Applicants more likely than not qualified in national level examinations, for example, CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA/GATE/UGC or CSIR/NET/JRF or Lectureship or proportional or worldwide level post graduate affirmation examination, for example, GMAT/GRE or equal

Determination Procedure

Hopefuls will be chosen on the premise of their execution in the passageway test as well as meeting led by the foundation
