Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology was established at Thiruvananthapuram and it is a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.
IIST was formally inaugurated on 14 September 2007 by Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, the then Chairman, ISRO and was temporarily housed in the premises of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre

Applicant should be an Indian citizen

Age Limit:
Candidates must be of 28 years as on 08.05.2015. Age relaxation is applicable to SC / ST / Persons with disability (PWD) category as per Government of India Orders.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have passed BE/B.Tech/M.Sc/M.S. or equivalent degree mentioned above should be in first class with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 out of 10. A valid score in GATE/JEST/UGC NET in relevant area as the case may be, as specified above is essential.
